Staff and Leadership

Danny Martinez

Interim Lead Pastor

Danny serves as the Interim Lead Pastor at FRC, overseeing family ministries and working closely with the children, youth, and college ministries. His responsibilities include Sunday morning classes, small groups, and helping new members integrate into the church. His goal is to encourage spiritual growth and build community across all ages.

He is passionate about preaching and teaching God’s Word. Danny is dedicated to providing pastoral care, counseling, and equipping leaders within the church. He seeks to help others grow as disciples of Jesus who, in turn, raise up the next generation of leaders.

Outside of ministry, Danny enjoys quality time with his wife and children—whether on walks, watching movies, or visiting with friends. He also serves on the Lynden School Board, and in his free time, he enjoys longboarding, exercising, and exploring great food.

Lise Jamison

Director of Church Operations & Care

I have the honor of being FRC's Director of Church Operations and Care. My passions are to see people grow in Christ, feel connected, loved and seen. And in my role, I am able to be a part of that.

I have two adult children with a lovely daughter in law! I am married to a patient, loving and supportive husband. My ideal morning would be to have no agenda, 2 or more hot cups of coffee, and time to be active in some way!

Abe Nienhuis

A/V Director

Abe serves as the A/V Director of FRC. His primary focus is making sure the tech in and around the campus is working great, as well as designing the media all over FRC. Abe is married to Hannah, and together they love their daughter Phoebe.  Abe is currently working towards his Master of Arts in Biblical Studies at Redemption Seminary. His hobbies include his ever growing Bible collection, studying theology and listening to music.

Caden Tarrell

Youth Director

Caden serves as Director of Youth Ministries at FRC leading the middle school and high school ministries. God has given Caden a heart to see kids discover the joy of life with Jesus. He is a Lynden native with a passion to see kids take their faith seriously. Some things Caden likes to do are rafting, hiking, cooking, listening to audiobooks, and spending time with friends new and old.

Carla Harkness

Director of Children's Ministries

I am honored to serve as the Director of Children’s Ministries here at FRC. In this role, I get to walk alongside children as they grow in their knowledge and love for the Lord. My passion lies in guiding children to understand Gods love and partnering with families to nurture young hearts in faith so that they may grow to trust, and follow Jesus throughout their lives.

Beyond the church, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my husband and our three kids, often with a great cup of coffee in hand. I love engaging in community and sports activities, and you might also find me coaching high school cheerleading at Lynden Christian. I’m grateful for the opportunity to invest in the next generation—both in ministry and in everyday life.

Andria Martin

Birth to PreK Coordinator

Andria serves as Birth to PreK Coordinator here at First Reformed Church. She has enjoyed volunteering in the Kidz Ministries since becoming a member of FRC in 2012. She looks forward to building deeper connections with the families and children of the congregation. She loves spending her free time with her husband Michael and their three kids- Liv, Van and Evelyn. You can often find them at ball fields, basketball gyms or enjoying the San Juan Islands.

Jaime Smith

Secretary

I am honored to be serving as the Secretary at FRC. In this role, I will be welcoming visitors to the office, communicating with the church body through email, answering phone calls, assisting with ministry coordination, and supporting a variety of administrative tasks. I will also be working closely with Lise Jamison, FRC's Director of Church Operations & Care. It is a joy to serve the church in this capacity and to be part of such a dedicated and caring team of staff.

Outside of the office, I cherish time spent with my husband, Adam, and our four children—Kai, Reed, Chase, and Norah. I love being outdoors in God’s beautiful creation, whether it's camping, catching a sunset, staying active, or making it to the beach whenever possible. I also enjoy reading, sipping a warm cup of tea, and cheering on my kids in their sports activities.

Leadership

6 An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient. 7 Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. 8 Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. 9 He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.
Titus 1:6-9
